Behavioral & Mental Health

Behavioral and Mental Health Services are an important part of your child's overall health.

Examples of services available:
  • Assessment and counseling support for depression and anxiety
  • Support for any behavioral concerns, including ADHD and defiant behaviors
  • Evaluation and diagnosis of mental health conditions
  • Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (CBT, DBT)
  • Family Therapy

Psychologist verses Psychiatrist:
  • A Psychologist provides assessment, evaluation, therapy, and clinical recommendations. Psychologists do not prescribe medications.
  • A Psychiatrist is a medical doctor that can make assessments and prescribe medications.

Therapy Services at PANC:

We now offer therapy services at PANC. Natalie Tanner is a lisenced clinical therapist. She is employed by UCHealth but will see our patients at PANC. She used to be a school based therapist serving children 5-18yrs of age. To schedule with Natalie send us a portal message, call us, or ask at a visit with your PANC provider. We can send a schedule request to UCHealth and they will call you to set up a visit.

Psychiatric Care at PANC:

PANC has always offered experienced and comprehensive Mental health support. We regularly evaluate for ADHD, anxiety, depression and eating disorders. But sometimes when the level of care is increased and is more complicated, and we will recommend seeing a psychiatrist (a medical professional that specializes in mental health disorders and medication management). Examples of this need may include: a patient that has not responded to the typical medications PANC providers prescribe, or a patient that may have OCD, psychosis, ticks, or bipolar disorder.

If your child or teen has been seeing a psychiatrist that is no longer available to see them, then this is a perfect example of a need that PANC can supply.

We would like to introduce Colleen Blair Michel, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She is employed by an outside office (not PANC) and will see our patients one day a week in our office. Billing and scheduling will be done through her office. She can offer evaluations and medication prescribing support for anxiety, Depression, OCD, eating disorders, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. She takes most insurance types. Please speak to your PANC provider (portal message is fine) if you are interested in a visit with Colleen.

Here is Colleen's information:
